Reports to crew/department Supervisor, although may receive orders, direction from senior more experienced employees on the job.
This is the least experienced employee in a crew or department requiring constant supervision as well as training. A Helper is expected to assist the crew as directed by competent leadership. Must be able to perform heavy physical labor, work many hours out in the elements during rain, snow, wind, extreme heat and cold.
Physically fit, must be 21 years of age, possess valid Driver’s License, able to be away from home for multiple days at a time. Speak and write in English, capable of understanding and passing testing regarding safety requirements in the field. Pass physical exam and drug test.
Essential Functions of the Job:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools or controls: reach with hands and arms. Employee will regularly be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. Employee will be constantly exposed to wet/humid/hot weather or cold/wet/snow/sleet weather often to extremes. Hazardous materials are often present and may be handled by the employee, in accordance with previous training regarding such handling. The noise level on a job may be high enough o warrant ear plugs.

Employee is required to report if he/she is taking a drug that may alter their behavior, prescription or not. Employees are subject to random drug tests. MVR will be checked at least annually.
